The Boral Timber division has links back to the 1890’s when Allen Taylor and Company was
established by the late Sir Allen Taylor. The company carried out hardwood sawmilling operations on the New South Wales coast for many years. Today from its headquarters in Auburn, New South Wales, Boral Timber coordinates the activities of its extensive operations in NSW, Queensland and Victoria. Boral Timber has become one of the largest suppliers of hardwoods in Australia with a diverse product range encompassing flooring, paneling, decking, furniture timber, decorative plywood and structural timbers.

Boral is an international company that is widely diversified both geographically and by product. The company is increasingly involved in North America, the European Community and the Pacific Asia Region. Each Boral division has gained a high reputation in its field by offering its own specialized expertise in product manufacture together with the ability to comply with foreign requirements, offer technical assistance and provide local support.

Architects from around the world have been quick to seize upon the rare combination of strength and beauty offered by Boral Australian hardwood flooring. Prized for rich color, consistent grain, workability, high density and durability they are among the finest decorative timbers available. Boral Timber is acknowledged as a leader in the timber industry for its responsible management and conservation practices. A unique ability to add value to our forest resource has resulted in special worldwide recognition. Logs are harvested from State Forests, where strict controls are imposed by the Government Authorities to ensure sustained yield production of these valuable Australian native hardwoods.
